Language is constantly evolving, changing with changing scenarios. But it takes hundreds of years to see changes visible on the surface. But technology has increased the rate of evolution. Now language is moving so fast that it has become harder for the older generation to make parallelism with it.
Language itself changes slowly but
the internet has speeded up the process of those changes so
you notice them more quickly.

So, Here in this blog the writer is going to describe 3 videos by David Crystal on How Language is influenced by Technology and in what ways it is going to change in future. With the invention of different technological tools language itself is influenced. New variety of language is coming up with new technologies. For example…
Newspaper: With the invention of Newspapers new styles of writing came out which is very brief and to the point. Headlines, Cartoon and Captions, Editorials all these have different styles of writing.
Telephone: When firstly Telephone got invented people didn't even know how to speak in it. They used to shout in high voices but slowly and steadily they got the idea How to speak on call. Now they simply say "Hello."
Broadcasting: When Television and Radio came into existence people used to say this is the biggest disaster for Language, 'Broadcasting is a medium people's brainstorming.' But now you see it is no more a medium of brainstorming but instead it is a medium of information and knowledge with different forms of languages like Sports Commentary, News Reading, Weather Forecasting, Chat show etc.
The World Wide Web came in 1991, Google in 1999 and before that we didn't even know how to browse or Google search. Text messaging came in use during 2000, Blogger in 2003, Facebook in 2004, YouTube 2005 and new trendy Twitter in 2006. So, All these forms have new developing styles of English. And all forms are distinct from one another in the style of English Language.
"A fundamental linguistic change takes
place as a result simply because not just technology but the software with the
technology makes you think
differently from what
you were doing before."
